For the 2nd time Calabasas High School Jazz “A” Band was named one of the 15 finalists for Jazz at Lincoln Center's 11th Annual Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festival.
The band traveled to New York City, met "One-On-One With Wynton Marsalis", participated in workshops, and performed at Frederick P. Rose Hall.
Calabasas was awarded a "Certificate of Merit" and received 6 awards for Outstanding Soloists. Clarinet - Shanley Wang, Alto Saxophone - Mark Einhorn, Piano - Shanley Wang and Shani Shousterman, Vocals- Mallory Glaser and Outstanding Sections – Reeds. See our on line Photos

Our Vivace choir, along with 10 selected boy's from Maestoso, were selected by conductor Paul A. Smith to travel to New York City and sing in this prestigious event at Carnegie Hall. Click here to see the photo.

Calabasas Jazz A Band members were named as finalist among 15 North American High School and State Jazz Bands in the “Essentially Ellington” High School Jazz Band Competition led by Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis.
Calabasas High School's Jazz A Band under the direction of Josh Barroll traveled to New York City. The band worked in special workshops with top Lincoln Center musicians and with great pride performed on the Lincoln Center stage with the great Wynton Marsalis. See our on line Photos
