Support our Music Program!

Dear Students, Parents, Faculty, and Music Supporters,

We hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable summer, and we welcome you to the 2007-08 school year!

Calabasas High School Music Boosters is a parent volunteer group assembled for the purpose of providing our children in the music programs with as much support as possible, considering the limited resources provided by both Calabasas High School and the Las Virgenes Unified School District. We are not part of either the high school or the district and, therefore, whatever financial support we offer to enhanceour children's musical education comes from donations and fundraising.

With your support and involvement, Music Boosters is able to provide our students with superior music faculty and clinicians, provide new sheet music, purchase new instruments and repair instruments.  In addition, with Music Boosters’ help, our students are able to participate in ongoing music activities, community events, field trips, attend concerts and enjoy special clinics lead by world renowned musicians.  Much of last year’s financial assistance came from Music Boosters’ largest undertaking, “Calabasas at the Canyon” Dinner Dance and Silent Auction, which was tremendous fun and a great success due to parent, faculty and student involvement.

One of the highlights of the coming year will be the opportunity for our advanced choirs and ensembles to participate in the Heritage Festival in Chicago.  Our ensembles perform at football games, pep rallies, local city events, Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, district-wide competitions, and provide the music for both spring musicals and perform in the numerous concerts throughout the year.  Our singers and musicians participate in the annual student-run Solo Night and our two extra-curricular, student-run a cappella choirs both received high honors and recognition in competitions this past year.

We will be holding several fundraisers during the year including Gift Wrap and See’s Candy sales, and we will host our second Dinner Dance and Silent Auction, proceeds of which will help support travel and be used to enhance and enrich the music program at Calabasas High School.

We invite you to you join us and be a part of this wonderful organization.  Music Boosters’ meetings are generally the first Thursday evening of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the band room.

We are so fortunate to have tremendous faculty, staff, and parent support – the huge growth in our program is a testimonial to the successful efforts of our Music Director, students, and volunteers.

Our heartfelt thanks for your continued support!

Sherri Schreiber, President, Music Boosters
Louise Boyer, Executive Vice President, Music Boosters

Join us at our Music Booster meetings the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the band room.

Our next meeting is Thursday, February 7th. We would love for you to get involved.
